I recently came across this quote from actor Anthony Hopkins:
Just out of curiosity, I thought about how I might be ‘living up to’ Anthony’s suggestions:
1. Yes, there are many times I treat myself as an afterthought, but it’s usually because I want to. Philipians 2:3-4 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
2. I absolutely love eating delicious food; after all, who doesn’t?
3. I love walking in the sun, but – nope – I’m not one to jump into the sea. I’m not really a water person. I’d rather be on the beach watching the water than jumping into it.
4. I have a funny story about speaking the truth. Recently some friends were teaching me how to play a card game (known by many names like Liar, I Doubt It, etc.). The only way you can increase your chances of winning the game is to lie about the cards you have in your hand. Since I can’t lie very well, I wasn’t very good at that game! (I don’t really think that’s what Anthony was thinking about when he made the ‘truth’ statement.)
5. Yes, I can be silly – but probably not often enough; I’ll work on that one.
6. Yes, I can be good. I’m not so good at being weird, though.

I do agree with Anthony Hopkins when he said “There is no time for anything else.”
The reality is none of us leaves this earth alive, which is all-the-more reason to make each and every moment one you’ll treasure and not one you’ll regret.
