DOES IT FIT IN THE OVERHEAD, OR IS IT A CHECK-IN?

Everyone has baggage, but I’m not talking about physical luggage. I’m talking about the emotional, mental, or spiritual weight we carry through life.

Some people travel light. Their baggage fits in a backpack or maybe a small carry-on, something easy to lift into the overhead bin. It’s there, but manageable.

Others carry more. Their suitcase doesn’t fit overhead and needs to be checked. When these bags have rotating wheels (faith, family, friends) it can feel a little easier to navigate, but it’s still weighty. It takes more time to move through life with that load.

And then there are those who are checking in multiple suitcases, each one packed with hardship. Sickness. Financial strain. Relationship challenges. The kind of weight you can’t manage alone. Those folks need extra support.

The truth is, we don’t know what others are carrying. We can’t always tell if someone’s traveling light or dragging around a lifetime of weight. And they don’t know what you’re carrying either.

That’s why kindness is so important.

That’s why compassion matters.

Because no one gets through this life without baggage and a little understanding can make someone’s journey a whole lot easier.

So, does your baggage fit in the overhead, or are you checking it in?

“In everything, then, do to others as you would have them do to you.” ~ Matthew 7:12
